If you're like me, the first time you saw something was made from "PU leather" you wondered, What is PU Leather?
Wikipedia (linked) says: PU leather (also known as bycast leather, split leather or bileather) is a split leather with a layer of polyurethane applied to the surface and then embossed. Bycast was originally made for the shoe industry for glossy shoes, and recently was adopted by the furniture industry. The resulting product has an artificially consistent texture that is easier to clean and maintain.
Makes sense. I am holding a PU Leather iPad case (linked) in my hand and it has a uniform surface that is soft, durable and looks like it would be easy to clean. Jake thinks it smells funny, but he's a dog.
We have a series of iphone, ipad and ipod accessories that are made from PU Leather. They are engineered to last a lifetime and you can find them by using the navigation on the left side of this page.
I hope that helps!
